RenovationSpecifications of Project
This multi-phase barn renovation project started with an existing calf barn with single pens. The team at ATL Dairy completed a complete conversion with new pens and stalls allowing the calves to grow up in group housing with a new automatic parallel calf feeder. The Urban Calf Mom Alma Pro was the perfect solution. The Alma Pro has a capacity of four feeders and monitors feeding on a per calf basis. Tags record all analytics data and track feeding metrics for each individual calf, giving rise to a better calf environment and socialization, coupled with ability to monitor all nutrient intake. The addition of SPI waterers provide ideal conditions for the farms calves to grow and thrive.

Results of Project
At the conclusion of this project, the farm has a complete calf care system. Happier calves become happier cows that produce more milk regularly. New group living and conditions for socialization and calf comfort with precise feeding for each calf the project was a great success. We can’t speak for the calves themselves, but we feel that they are vary happy in their new home.
